How crowded?

So much for social distancing if they limit the real estate and have an increase in campers.
Is midweek any different than weekend as far as beach availability?
 
A bit but still pretty tough. Last time we parked back a bit and waited for an open spot and got lucky. This was aTuesday. Sometimes you can see someone packing up and talk nice to them and they let you move in on them. Sad it's had to come to this.
 
It really resembles Burning Man rather than Powell
Looking from the air there really isn't much more area the PS can open up at Lone Rock.
We all know the shore to the south is soft soft soft
When I leave Greenehaven and see 10 cars parked at 89 and the LR road I know the area is full :)

Cliff, Check out the area at the North end on the other side of the small canyon. Quite a bit of beach there. I asked a ranger why they didn't open that area and he said because of the cows. I've been going to Lone Rock for close to 30 years and haven't seen a cow there yet. Maybe in the winter, but not the summer. Then there is about 1000 miles of shoreline on the North West side of the lake I think a few places could be opened. I seem to remember another camping area in the back of Bullfrog bay as well. Oh well, Lone Rock is just too crowded anymore and it just will get worse.
 
I'm giving up on Lone Rock for now, try again this fall. In a couple of weeks I'm going to Halls, pay more at the RV park but power for AC is worth something, even if I have to pull the boat each night. I've never been mid lake before so there will be a learning curve that I'm looking forward to after reading about it for years. I do realize there are going to be obnoxious wakeboats circling around me while I fish, but if I run upstream a little it shouldn't be so bad. We learned years ago, back when there was just waterskiing, that if you don't look at them they tend to go away and look for someone else to notice them.
Wouldn't it be great if part of the lake was for regular boats only? Or even 2-3 days a week.
