I was just down at Bullfrog and went to the North ramp to see what it looks like.
No surprise that the concrete is high and dry, but what surprised me was the appearance of a dozer trying to make a path to the waters edge.
Sorry, I didn't get any pictures.
But, I was there to pick up a law enforcement vehicle and I got to talk to a Ranger about what I seen.
Here's the skinny on what he said.

Down towards the water on the North ramp, there is an island. They are smoothing their way to that island and the plan is to level the island in hopes to get to the main Bullfrog Bay channel, where it is deeper.
They are doing this in hopes to create a ramp where houseboats can be safely launched from.

The Stanton Creek project. The plans are to pave all the way to Stanton creek where the current 2 wheel drive road is and set up facilities there. The ranger said this will take YEARS (yes, plural) before it's up and running.

Wish I would have taken pictures. :(

Thanks for this as we are headed down next weekend. I know you said "North Ramp" but are you referring to the Executive Ramp closest to the houseboats? Kind of confused me when you mention the bulldozer, the island, and Bullfrog Bay channel...that sounds more like the Main Ramp. I believe the Executive (most people call North Ramp) has water to about 3522 and then boiler plates, so shouldn't be high and dry. Again, just want to make sure...hate to make the trip down and can't launch.

Go to @Slots-R-Us post he explains what is happening at Bullfrog ramp .

Dave is confusing the “north” ramp, aka the executive services ramp with the main ramp.

The north ramp is good until about 3519.

The main ramp has been dry for a while.

Appreciate the report about the primitive ramp they are constructing to get us through until the Stanton project is complete.

No, not the executive ramp, but the main ramp. The ramp just straight past the convenience store and the decon parking lot. No confusion to be made as to what ramp I am speaking of. The Main ramp. No right turns from the main entrance, just a straight drive directly to the main, North ramp.

And don't be confused... You CAN NOT launch at the main ramp as they have bulldozers there to work on that ramp. You will need to go to the "executive ramp" over by the houseboats to launch your boat .

I was doing talk to text and I seen it did add "North" in several places. Probably because that is where most of the inquiries are.
So, I do stand corrected. Darn AI intelligence. haha

Been going to Powell for 20 years. No confusion on where the "North Ramp" is located, but my post did say North ramp, so I have to own it. :P

This work is being done on the main ramp.

It's still a crap shoot if it will even work. I hope it does

The funny thing about this, Offshore Marina (North Lake) didn't even know about this attempt to make a ramp for houseboats and they are directly affected by this ramp being made possible.

I personally haven't seen any projected plans for this anywhere.
It would be interesting to see if Slots-R-Us knows about this adventure to try and launch houseboats.
The old timers at Offshore didn't know about it.

Bust a local, boots on the ground report at a possible ramp here soon
