Heading Down

Can now confirm two things, Boils in White (nightly from 6-dark), and some tournament guys are jackwagons. Lots of good footage, probably have a video up tomorrow.
Why do you do this to me? We camped just south of Monte Cristo island(isthmus), Saturday afternoon but considered parking the Cabin Cruiser in White instead. I guessed wrong again. Would have loved to have run interference for you in the Loose Moose, we did see about a dozen potential jackwagons go by Sunday morning after sunrise, and a sea plane(don't think he was part of the tournament).

fishfry we saw and heard the honk.
john, yeah should’ve come up! Lol. Also saw the plane Sunday, that was pretty cool. Most of the tournament guys are great, this particular guy.... not so much. We had just pulled up to a spot just outside of ticaboo Saturday morning, we are there for a good five minutes, prepping, casting, working bank, when this tournament guy comes in off bank, trolling motors ahead of our spot just out of casting distance and just starts going to work. Conversation went about like this:

“Us: really?”
“Them: it’s a public lake, do you own this spot?”
“Us: of course not, but what happened to common courtesy, there is lots of other shoreline available.”
“Them: there is 80 other boats, we weren’t sure if you were walleye fishing or what.”
“Us: well thanks for asking (hell, if they had even just asked we’d probably just concede and be nice), we hope you lose your tournament now (I know! We sure showed them right!!!? Lol).”

We then just went the opposite direction. Why is it some of them think just because it’s a tournament they can be inconsiderate? I guess those two guys who just got busted for cheating the tournament is all the evidence we need to know what most of their intentions surround. It’s too bad.

Saw lots of boats head far north, but it was only us and a single Lowe boat fishing the boils both nights.

Should have taken thier picture and made them famous on WW....

My first trip into white was Friday. For me it was sketchy going when it started getting shallow, in fact I turned around to head back. Just then you passed me going on in, I followed you on in, thanks for that. We never stayed late enough to see the boils. But had a great time in there.
Caught walleye, crappie, large and small mouth and found some stripers as well.
Came back in Saturday for a while. Was that you camped on the west side?

We never attempted White Canyon. I guess the draw to that canyon has just never appealed to us. We did try to fish the "humps" on the north bank outside Trachyte -- that was sketchy! We only beached the boat once. It's too bad that all that sediment is filling in all the old humps in that area. Oh well....it just forces us to try new spots! We now have "pee cove" to go back to in search of boils!

that float plane should have tossed out crankbait. He landed in the best track we had!

From what I heard the float plane is owned by a gentleman out of Moab and is good friends with a few of the guys fishing the tournament..
