Several years back, dad and I went for a week during the first week of the year. We saw -19* around Green River. I don't think it ever got above freezing on the lake. Still had a good time.

That was the trip that convinced me to get a kicker for my Lund. After we got out of the marina, there wasn't another boat to be seen.

Catching was nearly a bust, but the lake was calm and glassy to the point of being disorienting as water and shorelines came together as one.
