Great Saturday after a windy Friday

After a very rough day on Friday we headed to the back of Last Chance on Saturday morning. We ran into schooled up Stripers a few boils and had some great fun. We caught them on Shad shaped worms jigging and spoons dropped straight down, but the most fun was on surface lures (Whopper Plopper).
Three of us put 48 fish in the wet wells by noon.
We went exploring in the afternoon back in West Canyon. Not as much luck there. The water was a lot clearer than Last Chance. We caught some nice small mouth and some lunker large mouth way at the back (this is a beautiful canyon an a fun ride back in).
Gonna head back to Last Chance this morning and then go look around some more in the afternoon. Come join us or we'll let you know how we do.

Nice! Glad you were able to find them. Reports like that only reinforce my need, want, desire and obligation to return the first week in December. (Sooner if there was not a holiday in the way)

Went back to Last Chance again Sunday 11/19/17.
Cruised around in the left fork till we found the Shad on the sonar, then spooned up a couple dozen Stripers.
Decided to try the right hand canyon and went clear to the back. We could see splashes from aways away. The Stripers were feeding in about 6 feet of water around the submerged veg and we were able to use top water to catch them every cast. Picked up about 50.
We picked our way out of the canyon along the shore throwing jigs. A 3/8 oz jig head and a pumpkin spice Shad shaped worm seemed to be the most successful, but we still got a few with the wopper plopper. We caught lots of bass mostly smallmouth with a few largemouth and a couple of walleye along the cliff. They were fat and healthy.
Ended the day cleaning Stripers.
Gotta love Lake Powell.
Kinda want to try dropping spoons for big ones in deep water. Maybe tomorrow.

How far into Last Chance? We are going Sat & Sun to try our luck. We are still learning this end of the lake and have been in Last Chance only once. Thanks for any information.

We were way at the back where it forks left and right. The fish were in about 30 to 40 feet of water. We found fish in both forks but mostly the left.
