Drove to Durango today and got the new boat. Took some photos of the water soon to be in Lake Powell. It was T shirt weather on top of Coal Bank, Molas and Red Mountain passes. The snow is melting quickly, but is still a lot for June 9th.
Wow! No kidding. What a difference. The amount of timber loss due to avalanches on Red Mountain was incredible. Officials were doing helicopter flyovers while we were up there. They are concerned with water impoundments behind the avalanche debris suddenly breaking loose and causing flash flooding. The town of Silverton economy is hurting due to the Alpine loop trails not likely to open until July this year.
