Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to provide more services to visitors

(KUTV) - The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for a business opportunity to provide fuel, retail, RV sites, campground services and expanded land-based recreation opportunities in the Hite District of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
This RFEI does not require the government to provide any supplies or service. The park does intend, however, to issue a non-competitive temporary contract to operate the services beginning on Nov. 1 and expiring on Oct. 31.
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is located at the center of the Colorado Plateau. It provides public enjoyment through its diverse land- and water- based recreational activities.
The area also protects scenic, scientific, natural and cultural resources on Lake Powell, the Colorado River and other surrounding parts.
