Camped and fished in GHB last week. Weather dead calm, days hot, nights just right for sleeping. We found excellent fishing for SMB and LMB for first 90 minutes you could see in morning, and last 90 minutes you could see in the evening. We had lots of action on top water lures as well as craw color jigs. Fish were filled with crayfish and shad. Shad were observed in large numbers throughout the area, however, small shad baits didn't seem to be as successful as craw lures. Although we scoured the place for surface feeding Stripers, we only observed two surface feeding, which we pitched a top water lure to and they immediately hit. The great fishing for bass more than made up for the lack of Stripers. With the weather stable, this is a great time of year to enjoy the Lake.
