im gonna have to start stopping and talking to other boaters seems like only people out this time of year are from ww im always worried about people thinking im trying to get there spot so i dont stop we are heading out next good weather window gonna talk to all boats i see in good hope
I feel the same way, worried that I’ll scare whatever school they’re chasing away, or will upset them with my wake. I like the flag idea, but unless they’re 10x15 I probably won’t be able to see them anyway. 🥸

Just an FYI, I enjoy it when other boats stop and talk. We have had several stop and ask if they could join us and I also believe the more fish being caught the better it is for all of us fishing if there is room of course. We have had some really good fishing with other boats and it has been rewarding to meet new people for me. I had one person on this site a couple of years ago post that when they joined us at bullfrog mile marker 2, it saved there trip! They had struggled all day and both of our boats loaded up on stripers that night. Another time just below the restroom at GH a boat from GJ asked to join us and it turned out they had been fishing that same spot for the past couple of weeks before we got there. We enjoyed their company and I regretted not getting their names before we left. I’m sure they would remember us as one of my friends fished with his spinning reel on top and reels backwards! We had a good laugh together. Please stop and say hi to us if you see us and if we don’t want you there I’ll tell you, but usually all are welcome and I get to meet more wordings which I really have benefited from and I enjoy the encounters too. Now the tournament guys that have crowded us is a different story for another thread.😁

I seemingly get different results by trolling 3.5-4 mph with my 250 XS as I will graph just a few on my console and boom they hit and we will have a double. I stop the motor (leave it run) and the graph lights up... then we cast or deploy spoons. Personally I feel the turbulence created by the motor helps as I have WAY less success with my 112 Terrova leading the way... I feel the motor also masks the thumping of the feet on the floor boards. May sound silly but I found this helps keep them under the boat longer...
I have a lot of mixed feelings about the sound. I’ve sat on schools bumping my tunes pretty loud with the kids and everyone dancing around battling fish and the school won’t move. So does it matter? 🤷 I mean I have loaded a bunch of coolers making plenty of noise. It’s funny but when I am trolling and my downrigger strings start humming I feel like that turns the fish off. 🤷 I suppose the answer is have another beer and keep on keeping on. 😂🤣

Googled last night has all kinds of ways kinda like where you run cable thru a cork and it stays on top of the water. I'm told by my fishing buddy I have selective hearing all the time but can't get it to work with that sound?
