I have regular 110 volt mister twister knife and an inverter. But Dworwood has a rapalla cordless that I like a lot better. Now I have both and use the 110 volt as a backup.
I have something just like that for my boat and it runs both a mister twister and an american angler just fine out of the cigarette lighter plug in.I guess I just need to test mine out, I have a wall plug 12 volt mister twister, I guess I would need to just get a adaptor. Usually I have the generator and just plug it into that but I want to be as adaptive as possible and have a set up where I can fillet while out and about like you guys if needed.
Something like this...?
There is a cigarette lighter outlet on my dash and my Rapala Electric will use that 12v or 110v through the adaptor and standard 110 wall socket I've also used it at the fish cleaning stations, plugged into the 110 power there. Chuck
Think he is talking about this.I am reading about something I had no clue about. Are you saying you can get an adapter for a regular 110 volt knife you could plug in at home and have it changed to run off your 12 volt battery?

My Rapala cordless did between 75 to 100 fish this trip and was still going strong on the first battery. I have a spare battery also and between the two batteries I have filleted a LOT of fish in a week or long weekend of fishing. I have the same pkg you showed above for a spare and that one gets pulled out to help sometimes too, I am soooo lazy when it comes to filleting I have several electric knives on my boat just in case! Also my wrists like the electric knives too.Sorry for the confusion. It's the other way around. My Rapala knife came in a carrying/storage box that has a 12v knife, blades, etc. It also has an adaptor that can be plugged into any 110v outlet and runs the knife. The knife is always 12v and gets it power directly or through the 110v adaptor. I've had a battery Rapala but it usually lasted about 15 fish per battery--this is unlimited except I've had to let it cool somewhere around the 50 mark. Chuck
I'm with you, I have terrible luck with the lighter plug ins and tend to replace with strong spring alligator clips straight to the batteries for all my 12vlt connections.I use a 110 volt knife on a 12 volt system with an inverter. For some reason my lighter plug will not run the inverter. I have to go directly to the battery. I think it pulls to much power. I can then use the knife at home or at the fish cleaning station. I do like my rapala cordless a lot better. For several reasons.
