What a difference a month makes. Stripers that were all grouped together in mid-September now seem to be scattered everywhere. We launched on October 17th and camped in Dry Rock Creek. We found diffuse pockets of stripers in the back of Dry Rock Creek and in the back of Rock Creek Bay, but they certainly were not as willing to hit our jigs as they were in September. We saw two small up-and-down boils in the back of Rock Creek, but couldn't get there in time to take advantage of them. But, we did catch stripers - they weighted 2 - 2.5 lbs and were healthy. On Friday, October 20th, we moved to Warm Creek Bay and found stripers in the back of the bay. These were smaller, but still produced good fillets. We thought about staying an extra day, but the cold front that came through on Friday night made us rethink that plan. Until next spring!
