First Timer Looking for Advice

Hello all, I am renting a 59' Discovery XL houseboat (and 19' powerboat) from Aramark with 8 friends out of Halls Crossing and I am looking for some general advice for first time Powell goers. We arrive the morning of May 14th and return the boat May 17th (3 nights), and are looking for a quiet spot that's not too far from the Marina but where we can still access a cool hike or two and generally relax and cruise around. There is a ton of great info on this website but I'm wondering if anyone can share some general advice or provide some good resources for first timers on Lake Powell in the Halls Crossing area. Thanks in advance for any help!

Forgotten Canyon is relatively close and you can check out the hike to Defiance House ruins. Enjoy and Leave Only Footprints.

The most scenic area of the lake (in my opinion) is Escalante. If you’re not willing to take the houseboat that far, at least take it down to Slickrock/Iceberg and then use the smaller boat for a day trip. Plenty of hiking as well.
