First timer at Lake Powell

Well we had a great weekend at powell. Friday was a gorgeous day, Saturday and windy SOB, but a great time, and yes we will be back!

This is Angela's husband and you are all correct!! Winds and waves are no joke at lake powell !! Saturday was kind of crazy ! Getting back from Moki to the ramp was a bit intense..

This is Angela's husband and you are all correct!! Winds and waves are no joke at lake powell !! Saturday was kind of crazy ! Getting back from Moki to the ramp was a bit intense..

Glad it worked out. I dont like that feeling. Turning the corner at Moki and facing straight in to it.

Thanks ...was a crazy thing coming out a pretty calm canyon to crazy winds and waves !! Had faith we would be good but definitely intense at times

My wife and I had the same experience on our second trip to LP, but we were up around Cedar canyon as I remember. Came around the bend out into the main channel and were nailed by big waves and wind! It is amazing how it can be so calm on one section of the lake and then be terrifying when you come around a corner and confront the wind head on.
