Mr Heater makes Buddy heaters that are safe for inside tents for ice fishing. Many makers of ice fishing shelters - Ckeck Bass Pro
I'm sorry Gary, I was just having fun with Dorado. I have all of that stuff, but I have never taken the heater out on the ice. Its the big one, and to bulky. And I've pulled my tent out 12 times this season and set it up once :).

Some body forgot to tell the fish in my favirite fish pondšŸ˜‚View attachment 20835
Different seasons, lunar cycles, barometric pressure , weather whatever some people like my wife get more fish 99.9% of the time. I think we could fish a mud puddle and she would catch a fish. Some people just have the touch, luck don't know but I don't have what ever it is but I THINK YOU GOT IT.;)

PowellBride, you need to make a trip to Flaming Gorge in the winter time to see some real hardcore…..idiots šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ . I don’t want to hijack the thread, but I think during this time of the year, it’s all good.

A handful of times, I was one of the idiots. The low was supposed to be around zero degeees, but when we arrived at the lake it was -16. A buddy of mine broke the ice up at the boat ramp so the rest of us could launch. When I launched, my steering was locked up. Another boat was sitting at the dock not able to start. About 3 of us in the bay just started laughing at eachother and yelling ā€œwhat the hell are we doing!ā€ A great memory on a miserable day. I don’t think I even caught a fish! Here’s a pic from that day. You can see the ice in the background on the inside of the breaker wall.
Oh, and due to the cold temps and people launching, the boat ramp was a sheet of ice. I had to chain up to get off the ramp. Quite an adventure…

That is how I used to "use" my pop up ice hut. It got more use as a cook shack during elk hunting trips than on the ice! But I bought one of those flip up style shelters a few years ago and use it all the time. Makes moving around fast and easy. And Mr. Buddy gets used a lot up here!!!

I took my ice tent to Powell one year to sleep in because it was fast to use, but when I came back from fishing, it was 200 yards from where I had set it up. I had to pile rocks on that flap that they have all the way around it to keep it from blowing off. And I'm going to take my buddy heat on this trip to night fish, nothing wrong with being more comfortable :)

No problem- A trip to Powell sounds great right now--Have to move alot of snow to get to my boat. I have always waited till water temp hits 60'sh--600 hundred miles is quite an expense now!
