Executive Ramp Open Again

As seen on social media, the “primitive” ramps at Bullfrog are now closed. The peninsula has become an island.

The last time I was at Bullfrog the lake was 100 feet higher, so no first hand knowledge. I can vaguely picture illustrations/maps posted that show current lake access, but not certain about relative locations: main ramp, north ramp, primitive ramp, Stanton and whatever. A quick search didn’t turn up anything for the low levels. I think I’ve seen a recent aerial pic with pointers. Just want to better understand the challenges of our northern Wordlings.

Kudos to NPS for acting quickly to get ramps repositioned to Executive. It has to be tough managing marinas rising so rapidly and keeping ramps accessible on both sides of the main channel.

Executive ramp is up and running. We launched at noon Sunday and took a chance that we could use the executive ramp rather then use 2.0 primitive ramp. It looked abandoned with no one in the parking lot and no dock. Turned out to be a good decision because when we pulled out this morning 2.0 was under water and the executive ramp had a dock. Kudos to the park service for making that happen so fast.
