El Nino recent evaluation, 1997 comparison

El Nino discussions are sprinkled throughout many threads so, what the heck, start another one.
The story is consistent with previous El Nino trends: warmer and maybe wetter for the watershed. Not certain whether warmer and wetter is worse or better for inflow than wetter and cold(er).

The map in this article seems to indicate that it will not be wetter in Colorado or Utah.

You are right about the map. Article states that southern third to half of US will be wetter. Even the authors are confused too. We will find out pretty soon.
