The only problem with the Antelope Point launch is it's doubtful they'd put your boat in the water at 5 a.m. or earlier which does not make that a practical option for fishermen.

Ed you’re not wrong, however the solution is to just rent a slip.

Put your boat on the water a day before you’d like to go out.

The golf carts will pick you up right at your RV and take you down to a private slip very early.

The security guy who is always there will take you down if you just chat with em the day before and offer a $10 or $20 spot for their trouble.

Amy and I did that every day for five days during the pandemic so Im confident they’d do it now if you ask, offer fair tip, and work it out ahead of time.

Marine band 14 anywhere near AP and you’ll reach em.

I've got a houseboat in Wahweap Marina. If I'm not there, you can tie up to my houseboat and leave it there. You can go fishing as early as you like.

Thank you Maverick, that is a very generous offer! I don't know if I will return to Wahweap because of the problems I had mentioned in my original post but, if I do, that would be much better than renting a slip. Thank you again.

Hi Dave, I have been fishing Lake Powell now for over 20 years. I do fish from my wheelchair. Have you thought about getting your wife onto your boat before you launch boat into the water? This way you don't have to depend on getting her into the boat from the docks. and she gets a free ride in the boat from the RV to the water. I figured this out years ago. First I have a pontoon boat which allows a lot a room for a wheelchair. The triple tube pontoons are the best for Lake Powell. To handle the wind and waves. I had this device welded to my boat trailer. Then switched out the manual wench for electric one and cabled it up with quick disconnect cables to disconnect from battery on the boat. This way the lift stays with the trailer when you launch. I also use a harness I made up of heavy tie down straps attached to my wheelchair I can leave straps on my wheelchair and just hook up to winch cable connector. Then up I go an swing into the boat wheelchair and all with a little help from my friends. I would think this would also work with the boat you have. I agree with Halls Crossing also, lot better to launch from.

Do they have slips for rent that you could get shuttled to in the early AM hours?

They do, but not sure what availability looks like, especially now. Cart service is available during off hours, but like @CHRIS MCBETH said, you may have to be patient.

First of all, I commend you on your determination and ingenuity. My wife lost her ability to walk about 4 years ago and the challenges, both physical and mental are not easy to overcome. She has, through physical therapy, regained a certain amount of ability and can walk a short ways using assistance ( very slowly ) but, any distance at all she still has to use a wheelchair. When we launch the boat at a lake we are not camping at, we are able to get her in the boat before launching and I agree that is the best way. If we are in the RV, it kind of sucks to have to break camp every day and the motorhome is not the easiest vehicle to launch a boat with. I have looked at pontoon boats and it seems that it would be an ideal boat for someone in her and your situation. I think my fear is that the boat I have now is so easy to tow and launch, I would hate to lose that for the local lakes I fish now (Lake Pleasant, Roosevelt, ect). I can even take it to lakes that have motor restrictions. Thank you for taking the time to respond and giving me inspiration to not let what life throws at us stop us from doing the things we love.
