Defiance House Closed

Does anyone know why the Defiance House Archaeological Site is closed? I am assuming it is because of an algae bloom but the NPS doesn't say.

I haven't read about an algae bloom, per se, at Powell. Just the normal warning about swimming and ingesting water in the back of canyons where algae may be present, particularly during and after rain runoff into the lake. I haven't been to Defiance House in decades and then at higher water levels, but I'm guessing it's due to the hazardous climb up to the ruins.

I was there 3 years ago and the trail was very well maintained.
