Trent and Dave keep me posted I am trying to scrounge up some time to make it down next month myself. My wife has never been down and I would like to take her and the kiddo for their first trips. Having the kid would change my fishing schedule but they would both enjoy some warmth and a few fish and a little camping trip. I don't know where I would start as the water level would make for a completely different experience than the last time I was down there.
If you don't have to give your employer a big notice, wait until the water temps are 62 and rising. And it don't matter what level the lake is at. They will be into the bank to spawn. And its much more predictable catching👍

Got to take my dog, wife still working so I get free pass anytime if I take the dog!! Actually, she lets me go anytime as long as she can go sometime!!
With the dog of course!! LOL She pretty good in the boat. Fishes with me all year then when done she gets to swim and retrieve so all good. Carpet does have a fair amount of white hair, but a small price to pay. She earns her keep and gets all my ducks, when not fishing season! And she tends a downrigger too, can’t seem to get her to reel in the fish yet or set it up. But I’m working on it! I know some think She's a cattle dog :))) but she is an awesome duck and Pheasant dog! I call her a Sheprador ! Shes 3/4 Lab and 1/4 Australian shepherd:oops:EEE76F88-31CD-42EA-A49B-AE7AE1B8C375.jpeg1430B125-9D50-4F56-A86F-B4707792F4EB.jpegC85D758B-473A-4479-AA12-BA87E88C8F2D.jpeg

If your pregnant wife is even considering going with you to lake Powell in April....... fishing & sleeping in a tent.......

My man, you lucked out. (y)

You may wanna seriously consider renewing her contract.......

😋
😋

(she did not send $5 to suggest this to you)

I looked high and low for a good one like her.

However I think, in this case, she very much enjoys lake Powell more than me. She would definitely leave me behind to go 😂 . Now that she realizes lakes are for fishing and not for all that silly tubing and wakeboarding stuff, she thoroughly enjoys it.

Ryan, I had no idea this was you. Maybe give us a better clue than “wyo307”! 😂

We have 3 bird dogs that do most everything with us. If my wife is going, the dogs are going! As Dungee says, the boat is a tool that gets us fishing...

As far as the sand in the carpet...pretty much every crevice and crack had that red LP sand in it in my old boat. No matter how many times you power wash, vacuum, repeat, it keeps coming out of carpet! Fortunately, I can remove most of the carpeting in the new boat!!!

Don’t get me wrong, it still needs to be organized, sprayed out, swept and waxed occasionally but the worrying is gone.

Haha my bad. Easier just to text you and Dave I suppose. I don't know if I can run with you two now that you have new "sparkly" boats now. I am still a low life peasant with my aluminum Lund lol.
Haha you can still hang out with us…as long as it’s cool with Dave I guess. ;)

As others have mentioned in this thread, after one day of lake Powell, i stopped worrying about the boat and yelling at the dog. My favorite is when the boat is anchored to shore, and I look over and the dog is just sitting in there. There’s a long sigh followed by “oh well…whatever”. And then laughter.
