Rivergoer
Keeper of San Juan Secrets
October 7th, this was Cathedral In The Desert before the storms, note the amount of sand
This was yesterday, Nov 4th, the volume of sand pushed down Clear Creek is incredible

The biggest observation this trip has been the sheer volume of sand movement and scouring up and down the lake. Many beaches are either washed clean or submerged. Mother Nature did a reset. The slow, year over year beach-building process will start anew.
The recent Clear Creek erosion exposed two boat wrecks we’d previously not known existed.
This is the first one encountered where the creek turns left. It appears to be a 60’s or early 70’s V-Drive flat bottom, no identifying model or registration numbers.

The second boat is just a few hundred yards from the waterfall, a 19-20’ outboard ski boat Last registered 1998 in Colorado. So it’s been there about 28 years, entombed under the huge sand dune

Fifty Mile
Visited Gregory Natural Bridge. Aside from a few scattered floaters, Fifty Mile was surprisingly clear of major debris. Gregory is still high enough to get a small houseboat under and the water now extends back a lot further.

The best thing about this place is every trip is unique and the beauty never fails to amaze.
