The chains area is on the east side of the lake right at the dam. If you look at the area on maps it is labeled as The Chains. It is a walk in area where you can swim and fish from shore.I hope others know what "the chains parking lot" is and can help you out. Never heard of that area before.
All joking aside, it sounds like you saved there lives Meatwagon. And that is a good feelingHELP, HELP, HELP. That's the way I remember it.

.......and even nicer not to ask if they'd seen any of the notorious Frenchman eating Lake Powell sharks near by.....
P.S. When we were in France we ordered escargot, and you know what they brought us?
SNAILS!!
Can you believe that?
So they do play fun snaily tricks on us over there.....

Hey no worries at all bud I vaguely remember hearing about that one year when we shore fished it was probably the same French people who stripped right in front of My buddy and I and dove right in butt *** naked. Me and my buddy couldn't help but non stop laugh hahahahMy apologies to basshound91,I didn't mean to derail your thread. I'm not sure why I shared that experience other than it's always the thing I think in reference to the chains. It was a very disturbing event that ended well.
As for your question I searched utube and found that video which was posted 3wks ago and took a screen shot of what appears to be the shoreline. Hope it helps. View attachment 21952
