Castle Rock Cut Revisited

Incredible to think this was the Cut just 2 months ago (May 14, 2019)...truly amazing water year.

An amazing 40 feet! The flat bottom of the cut is at 3580 and the current elevation is 3620. It has been a great water year.

Would be a fun comparison.

It’s amazing what high water does to boat traffic. Last year during the 4th it wasn’t bad. This year is a completely different story.

I counted. There were 22 boats passing through at the same time

I live during the summer at a mountain retreat in Southern Utah and it parallels Lake Powell. Busy as crap during holidays and a dream come true almost all of the rest of the time. Never forget how many more gorgeous days we have than the crowded ones.

September, October, November, and March: you can go out on the lake and once you’re past Padre you may never see another soul for two days. It’s beautiful and reminds you of it’s awesome grandeur!
