Yes. I grew up on boats and learned a lot from my dad so I can do most anything with smaller fishing style boats. The bigger inboard or Diesel boats I am not good at the engine stuff but electronics is easy for me
 
FWIW I was fortunate enough to spend time on the boats of a couple of the top notch walleye guys that were part of the new wave of FFS users that are taking over the walleye and bass game. Each of them were Garmin guys. I asked why and all 3 of them mentioned clarity and responsiveness. This was 3 years ago before the 34 transducer was out.
One of them had his own marina dealership and had his pick of all 3 and chose the Garmin. I am guessing that you are going to be real happy with your setup.

I bought another GPS8616. I am running a Livescope LVS34 upfront separate from my trolling motor. I pulled the Terrova 60 inch which would sometimes come out of the water and replaced it with the new Garmin Kraken 75inch shaft. You can run the live scope up the middle of the trolling motor which is cool but I prefer to have a separate transducer pole especially if you are spot locked and the motor is moving back and forth to keep you on your spot. You don't lose your targets. I put a 1243XSV over next to my co anglers chair for those days that my girlfriend or buddies come along. They have their own LVS34 Livescope. I didn't network this unit with the others and decided to keep it on its own battery. I bought a Amp Outdoor lithium 60AH kayak battery with bluetooth and it fit nicely under my rods in the port side locker... The other 3 units and livescope I put on a Amp Outdoors Lithium 100AH battery. The Trolling motor is both a 24v / 36v trolling motor so you can do 2 or 3 batteries. Its pretty cool. At first I hooked it up to my two 160AH Amp Lithium batteries and it was so quiet and a big change from the Terrova. But at 24v its only 80lbs of thrust. So I pulled the trigger and bought another 160AH battery and decided to run the trolling motor at 100lbs of thrust on a 36v set up. Still super quiet but I could tell it was more powerfull. I am looking forward to trying that out in heavier wind this year. As luck would have it. I stumbled on a guy getting rid of a new Mercury 9.9 pro EFI remote trolling motor with only a couple hours on it. He had bought it and decided to go a different route. So I got a great deal. I had to order all the cables, fuel line components, throttle control, and ignition harness stuff but its a pretty easy install on the Lund. So I get to still do that stuff here next week when it all comes in. I haven't decided if I want to get an I Troll or Troll Master throttle controller for it. So if anyone has any good bad or ugly things to say on those I am all for it. Being that I run a Verado 200 Supercharge that has power steering I am not gonna tie the two motors together but rather lock the kicker in straight and steer with my trolling motor upfront. Seeing how I have spent a few bucks getting the boat to this point I said "WHAT THE HELL" and pulled the trigger on a couple Smooth Move seat pedestals as well and will get those on Monday to install. When Humminbird had their rebate on MEGA live I picked that up for the smaller Lund so I am looking forward to hearing my sons thoughts on that when he goes out seeing how I am a huge fan of Gamins Livescope. Last year I picked up the MEGA 360 and used that for a short time but found that I prefer using the Garmin Livescope more. So that thing is just sitting in the corner collecting dust not sure what I will do with it now. Here are a few photos of the finished up boats. Wow, what a system. Fish won't have a chance. They will just swim up with their fins in the air.

Garmin has great products, and really good customer service.

That being said, it feels like they are taking over the entire market for all kinds of products, and buying out brands like Tri-tronics and Navionics. I am glad that there are other companies like Humminbird and Lowrance that also make great units to keep competition healthy!

I agree. I am super happy with my Humminbird graphs. The side Image is in my opinion better than the Garmin and Lowrance. I thing Garmin FFS is superior to the Mega Live and Active Target. I thing Lowrance has the best Mapping and Down Imaging. I hated my Ulterra but I like the Terrova trolling motor. I just prefer to Network my trolling motor to my graphs and seeing how Garmin put a GT56 in the Kraken it was an easy decision for me to make the jump over to all Garmin
 
You have to wonder where it's going to end? Five years from now what the latest tech will be? Everybody wearing a helmet or a set of googles blue toothed to there transducer looking into the water seeing the fish real time watching there lure swim over with a half dozen patterns you can select to entice a bite? Just thinking on another snow day?
