We cut the anchovy in thirds. Using a 1/2 oz orange round head jig, run the hook through once. If using the head, I run it through the Gill plate. Yesterday it didn’t matter how it was rigged. Cast out about 40 feet and let it sink. Or just drop it straight down.

The buoy 25 wall should be just as productive as fishing by the dam or along the south wall by buoy 3. The advantage of fishing the Buoy 25 Wall is the boat traffic is farther away so you are not getting pummeled by wakes like fishing near the dam or buoy 3. Be safe out there and good luck!

That should have said 1/4 ounce jig heads. And by the end they were lead, no color and it didn’t matter.

Great report, this is really helpful. I am very new to striper fishing on Lake Powell. What is the best way to rig a anchovy for stripers?
For me straight line no weight if you can get away with it. Meaning no wind... go through the head come out the tail.
Good luck
