I'll bet your launching, I all ways took vacation days, and planned the third week of April every year. The water temps were with in 2 to 3 degrees all most every year, and it was predictable . Except for that wind

If they plan on using plates at the end of the ramp as we all suspect, wouldn't that necessitate the removal of the coffer dam?

Probably waiting for cement to cure, there is still dirt work around the edge to be done to ... from what it looks like

I am sure, but there has been speculation about removal of the coffer dam. It really seems like a non issue since it isn't very big. It seems like it will only protect against very small waves anyway.

Hmmm... I was looking at the picture and thought they should add some pumps to drain the water between the coffer dam and the end of the ramp and add a section or two more of concrete to the end of the ramp.

There is no structure/compaction to the "dam" it's not meant to hold water out or in, merely to protect fresh concrete from waves(I assume).

We would all like that. It was explained previously that working below water level triggered environmental issues that would slow the process. The speed that this was completed for a Gov. job was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
