I'll be heading out Wednesday and will be camping at the "campground". Does anyone know for sure that the potable water is turned on, so I can fill my camper up when I get there rather then carry a full tank?
Probably best to call ahead if you're going to depend on it. It's almost always running by now, but I haven't used the campground yet this year.

We have always filled up our drinking water containers at the supply Area in front of gas station. Been down in March, April, May, October and November and it has always been on.

There is a filter water station at the bathroom by the main ramp . Came across it last year . It might be R.O. .

Circling back, on this, we made the decision to stay in the RV Park. I had very low expectations going in and I wasn't disappointed. There were several sites that marked unusable. The one we choose was honestly a little scary to plug into as the power box was damaged. The only "amenities" there were water, electric (30 amp), sewer, a grill where you could put your own charcoal (we didn't use, and most them in the campground had seen better days) and a picnic table. There was also a shower/toilet building. I think there were 3 showers and a couple of toilets in the mens.
The park was pretty full while we were there, but I think there was always at least one open site.
The good - power worked well enough that I could run everything I wanted to (including two AC units). Water stayed on. Sewer worked. Spots are pretty well spread apart.
The bad - we didn't use the shower building but I did step in to check it out. There was toilet paper, but the sign on the wall said the building hadn't been cleaned/serviced since April 4. It was very dated. No shade anywhere. Sites are not very level. The goat heads are as bad as everyone mentioned.
Even if I had a do-over, I probably would stay in the RV park again. Having power and water was nice. Due to work, we spent way more time in the RV than on the lake, and we ran the AC from around 1000 in the am until probably 800 pm. The sites are $60/night, and I am sure I would have had the cost and inconvenience of filling my propane tanks had I chose the standard campground.
So, it is par for the course for everything Lake Powell/Aramark related. Absolutely fantastic location with amenities that fall way short of expectations. It makes me appreciate life on our self contained houseboat.

Glad it worked out for you. When it's warm, the A/C is often the deciding factor. In the cooler shoulder seasons, for me there's no comparison to the much nicer regular campgrounds. They don't feel like Aramark to me at all.
