I went with a friend to Clifton to look at the Porta Bote that Vivian attached In this thread. He bought it. The little two stroke Nissan started right up. We will be heading into Blue Notch sometime next weekend. We are going to have start a Blue Notch Yacht Club.

Love it!! Send us some pictures when you get back. Let's do a Blue Notch Porta bote Yacht Club Meetup 😆!

Thanks for the Vid!

That Porta Bote looks tricked out. I'm not sure I'd go all the way to Good Hope Bay in one though?

I have a 14' PB with a 9.9 Tahatsu. I get about 18mph. How fast will yours run that loaded?
About 13mph. I didn't boat to Good Hope from Bullfrog, I launched in Good Hope and cruised around the bay on the decent weather days.

David & I are taking our maiden voyage into Blue Notch Sunday afternoon, (4/17) for 3 or 4 days. No boat this time just fishing from shore and checking the place out. I've heard too much about Blue Notch not to go. Been ther by boat but never by land. Sq
Take a kayak, SUP, or even and float tube. You dont have to go far to get to the good fishing.

Pro tip: Put the kid's lifejacket on first, zipped and buckled. THEN put jackets on OVER. Cold water, rough conditions, sketchy little boat. Glad you had fun but it coulda turned real bad. If they needed to swim, they could take jackets off and still have PFD on.
Just a question. I was taught to wear the life vest over the jacket in cold water because if you go in it gives you some added insulation. The boats have built in floatation and all you really want to do is stay with the boat until it drifts to the shore or help arrives in a storm. Maybe this is just because I grew up in Oregon and Washington and that's a coastal guideline?

Glad that worked out!

The mud line was in GHB last week. Today…who knows.
JTeezy had some satellite images that look exactly like what I found. Don't know how he got real time satellite images, but look at his post.

Thanks, it goes 12-14mph. PS. It’s only an 8hp.
Do you know what that 8 hp weighs? My brother is picking up a 14'er tonight. Which kind of means I get a new boat! Looking for motor options around the suggested 56 lbs. and that honda seems heavier but the bote handles it well

It's definitely more than the 56 recommended. Its closer to 90#'s.

Honda marine has it listed on their website spec sheet as 92#'s. 90 wasn't a bad guess;)
