Headed in on Saturday morning with my fishing. Buddy's @Ramon and @Obi-Juan went out on the kayaks by about 11:00 had problems setting up my fishing finder and had to move my battery to the front , camped in Red Cayon at the back , a lot of carp spawning and shad balls , caught a big carp on underpin with a gulp minnow , he hit hard and almost took the pole . We came back in and set up camp , Went back out and fished and ran into @PFD he was on his peddle Kayak listening to some good music , he did a lot better than us on fishing .Juan fished for catfish at night and caught a big one right when i went asleep for the night . Sunday I headed to Dungee's Islands area and couldn't find the stripers so fished around red canyon. Finally on Monday we all went into Blue Notch and found crappie , catfish , small mouth bass and blue gill around the tumble weed batches on the shore . Got into a pretty good wind storm coming back to camp , and it just added to the adventure . Tuesday just before we headed out I dropped my walkie talkie into a tumble weed batch and reached down to get , and flipped the Kayak . I can till you they are pokie and the water was 65 degrees .
Hope @bcherv177 reads this post , he should park his pull up camper at the start of the road and ride his side by sides in and explore the area , the last thing you need to run into on that road is another vehicle you can't get around. It's only my 6 th trip to Blue Notch so I am not near as knowledgeable as others on this site. But it was @Ramon first and he drove his truck in right behind me , I am so proud of that man. You need to meet him to know how great of human being he is . The road is 14 miles long and took us 2 hours to do . Coming out my oil light come on , at the last obstacle and turned off my motor , come off it with no power steering . The sensors must of thought I was rolling over. Turned off the key and restarted the motor , no big problem.
It was a great trip , I have had better fishing trips , but it was place and company that made this trip.

you had a photo of you holding up a crappie who makes that clear spotted lure with the chartruse tail Dennis j from Junction
That is my copy of a walleye assassin a 3.5 monkey milk swimbait with a chartruse dye Dip-in-glo , that is Juans picture and it fooled him ,because he told me he was catching on a walleye assassin . That is also my best underspin from great lakes , really shows up on forward facing sonar (tugsten)

Great running into you. Hope my music wasn't too loud;) Had my rudder cable not snapped I was planning on running over and showing you my setup because it was on fire. Great trip and pictures.
You didnt bother me at all, I had the Starlink on and that had Juan and Ramons attention . I got the Starlink because I was on my Kayak by Dungees Island fishing 3 years ago and your bother-in-law was fishing by me running his business with one on his boat ,and I thought that was coolest thing I had ever seen . Sorry I missed seeing your rig , we never did get into the Striper.

Are you making your own plastics or is that store bought with the tail dipped in dye?

Thanks so much for the report! Our plan is to try to get just a little off the highway and drop the campers. Thanks again

I'm seeing a few posts of people camping down there now. I know the last couple of years you couldn't because there were signs saying you had to be a certain distance from the shoreline. Are those signs gone? Are you actually allowed to camp there again? Planning on going in a few weeks and seeing these posts are making me very hopeful.
