We always look in the stomach of the fish we filet to see what they are eating...and because inquiring minds want to know
Two pictures are attached, one showing a almost alive crawfish that came out of a smallmouth, sorry I did not have anything for scale, but its a good sized crawfish, out of a smallmouth. The other picture is a baby cat fish out of about a 2.5 lb. smallmouth...it was kind of interesting. And out of focus beside it in the picture is the back half of a double hula grub that was also in the stomach. We were using those and the smallies were pulling the back half off when they did not get the hook. Guess I was surprised they would swallow them, lol.
