Going to be heading up mid August I know it will be hot but how will the striper and smallmouth bite be. Never been in August. We usually go april or may and then again end of September but have some time off. Thanks

SMB action is just slower than spring and fall - but it's still there. No striper experience - though I've often seen boils in August

Striper fishing has been awesome for me in August. When planning a trip I go and read the historic reports for a number of years to get a feel for the time of the year.

We hit it at the end of Aug last year, and it was the most amazing striper boil action I've ever seen in my life! Football field sized schools staying up for many hours at a time...we hope to repeat it again this Aug!

My wife and I are coming up this weekend also. Just Sat/Sun. Hopefully there is some decent fishing to be found in the south end that doesn't require getting out of bed at 3am LOL
