Hi all, We plan on leaving Oregon on Sunday the 12th of May 2019. It's a 3 day drive and we plan on launching on the 15th for a week of fishing/camping. Anyone know if we will be able to launch a 20' sled boat at Antelope Point by then? Thanks.

How does the valet work? I'd like to cut some time and mileage off of the boat if I can launch at Antelope. Does the valet have a private ramp?

Doubtful unless you use their valet service. $15
If they find mussels when you take out, you will need to go to Wahweap for decan.
Off subject but how long does it take from the time you launch your boat till a mussel would beome visible if the boat was clean when you launched?

Just FYI-the APM valet service summer hours are now in effect:
APM Boat Valet Services: 7am-7pm (5/1-10/14/19)

The quickest length of time is 5 minutes if you put your boat on the beach and a small rock turns over, allowing a mussel to detach and then reattach using his byssel threads on your boat, motor, or anchor. Mussels can move and attach quickly. It is possible.

For all interested:

7am to 7pm the Antelope Point Valet has their own private ramp and it’s fully accessible. You pay $20 round trip (launch and retrieve). It takes about 20-30 min if there is a line, but you literally can hang out in your boat and they’ll drive you down and launch.

When you get back, radio channel 16 and they’ll redirect you to another channel and come get you. It’s pretty slick. Do plan on tipping the driver $5-10 if they do a good job.

Upon request they will also unhook your trailer in the secure yard and park your vehicle in the public lot and leave the keys and location at security at the top of the walkway that leads down to the marina. This makes it possible to slip your boat at night in the marina thereby enabling you to head out fishing really early the next day prior to 7am.

Just don’t forget the last day you’re there to go hook your trailer back up and give the keys back to the valet desk :-)
