I for the life of me can not picture how a floating ramp would work.......

Think Dry dock but with a ramp that gets deeper and deeper. but would not have to be as large as a dry dock. just floats that hold the ramp that goes into the water.

Maybe I should build one and charge for use. Haha I bet if all the ramps go dry and they dont extend them people would pay high dollar. Or just put a crane like they do in all the ocean marinas.

There has to be a solution

Haha thats too easy and logical. My complex, complicated, risky, expensive plan is a much better solution for the government. LOL

If there is a logical easy solution to the problem you know they will not do it.

I launch a pair of Wave Runners, and I'll give the usually give the driver a ten dollar bill. Last October, one battery was not strong enough to fire up, so she had to pull us out again and find a booster battery. For 5 more minutes of work and going the extra mile, I doubled the normal tip. When pulling us out, I've given a 20 for having the rig right there when I motor into the ramp, or a 10 if I have to wait for them to show up. Please note, I avoid the lake during the busy season, so I've never had to deal with any kind of rush hour situation at the Valet ramp.

That is on top of what Antelope charges for their Valet service, but the service and security provided by that is worth it. Good tipping, whether for Cart Service or Valet, just shows appreciation and gets you better service next time.

There's been lots of changes to staff and policy at Antelope in the off season so far this year. I'll update this post in a few weeks, after my next trip.
I've just finished a day working on the houseboat in the Antelope Dry Storage yard. The new manager Ray came by to talk, and I made a point of asking him to verify the lowest water level that Antelope Valet can operate at. He confirmed that they can launch and retrieve down to 3,550. Some dry storage houseboats might end up being out on the lake past this level, in which case there would be no way to pull a houseboat at any ramp on the lake. Those boats would end up being slipped until the water level comes up to 3,550.

He did say that Wahweap has used steel runners layed on the mud to extend their launch ramps, but getting loaded trailers out using those steel runners was sketchy because steel has no traction, compared to concrete.

That's it folks!
