Gojo in the pump dispenser works very well for chovie smell on hands, filet boards, tables and swim decks.

FROZEN MINNOWS ALSO WORK WELL FOR STRIPERS
Many years ago when I was working at a fishing store. I saw some guys on the bank in North Wash killing the stripers. We were fishing the shoreline in a boat doing well on LMB, this was before SMB arrived. The guys were talking loudly and kept saying pass me some more minnows. As we approached closer they started asking us how we were doing and telling us how they were killing the stripers on minnows. I said you mean anchovies right. They said no frozen minnows. The went on to explain they had never fished Powell. They had been planning to fish on fish lake but the ice was getting sketchy so they drove down to Powell and decided to try fishing with the minnows they had for Fish Lake. They caught a pile of Stripers we watched them pull them in pretty steady. When I got back to the store. I convinced a few anglers to try them, as they were cheaper less stinky and stayed on the hook better. I got a number of good reports and one customer used to buy a bunch of minnows and he never used anchovies again. He told me he could get multiple fish on one minnow, that usually doesn't happen on anchovies. But overall it was hard to convince most to even try them so anchovies still ruled the day. But I can tell you for sure they work well.
Personally I hate anchovies to even be in the boat. I don't fish for Stripers if that is the only way to get them. Usually we can catch plenty on lures or spoons. One night under a green light in Halls marina, year before last ( want to forget last year Virus crud !) off the back of the houseboat, the guys next to us were using anchovies and we out fished them using Shad Colored STEEL SHAD Lures, got a few walleye and even one catfish that night. We didn't have to mess with stinky minnows or anchovies.

After washing your hands, typical Scent Killer like we use for bowhunting works very well.

When I lived in Massachusetts, I got into surf fishing for stripers using chunk bait. Chunked mackerel, anchovies, herring, eels, and even clam bellies. One think I started using was frozen calamari. Everything loves to eat squid. And a big chunk of it stays on the hook really well, basically like a piece of rubber on there. Anyone tried chunks of squid on Powell?

That is an excellent idea, especially if you can find some cheap frozen ones. I have used them down in Mexico in the Sea of Cortez. Catch a 30 pound squid, then chunk them up for tuna, pomano and snapper...like you said, everything loves to eat squid!!
