A little bit of fishing around Moqui and Bullfrog (5/28-5/30)

It was a quick work trip down to the Halls buoy field to work on the houseboat and get ready for the summer season, but we managed to squeeze a little fishing in between the work and the wind.

We only went as far as the little cove near the mouth of Moqui Canyon, but got in on a school of striper there and pulled a couple of walleye in the same area, using primarily Anchovies on a jig head and sometimes with a variety of paddletail, curly tail, and similar soft plastics, and one or two on a silver spoon. I also landed a very nice 22" walleye while trolling for smallies along the west side of Bullfrog bay. That thing tasted amazing later that afternoon! Unfortunately, the wind on Friday limited our time, but I was happy to catch anything since I was mainly working on laying carpet on the top deck of our Houseboat and a few other odd jobs.

Overall, I was surprised at how empty the lake was for the first weekend after Memorial Day. The north ramp situation wasn't very busy and a variety of boats seemed to be launching without much trouble.

I also didn't end up with enough time to ask around about the new ramp below the main ramp, or the schedule for moving the other slips, pumpout, etc.
Fuel is at Halls.
Pumpout is still at Bullfrog.
