Just spent 4 days April 29-May 2 mid lake. Camped in Witherhill. Fished from there to Oak day one. Small/large mouths in jigs and hula grubs. 3/8 oz head. Darker colors (pumpkin, watermelon, green) worked better than smoke this year. Sunken islands and the usual broken rock. Fish are 5-10 ft. Then 20-30. 1 lm for every 10 sm average. Did better in the backs vs main lake. Stripers stacked up on canyon wall as you enter oak by broken rocks. 20-40 ft. They get going on chum then I the fun starts. Nice fish 3-6lbs. Only a few walleye.
Ran up the San Juan Monday. Fishing was good. - not epic. Best fish was a 3.5 lb largemouth. She is still there on north side of cha bay. Water clarity was 10 ft. 4 boats. 8 guys. No wind for 3 of 4 days. Can't wait to get back. George.
