Making it happen this year was a struggle, due to boat issues and scheduling issues we had to postpone the trip twice.
I arrived on 4/29 ran up north to Good Hope fished for about 3 hours caught 6 smallies 3 largies and 2 crappie ran back in to Bullfrog to get checked in and meet up with my brothers who drove in from New Mexico.
Knowing there was a bass tourney on Saturday and Sunday, along with weekend crowds I figured we would save up north for later so on Thursday and Friday we ran south to Rincon. Caught good #s of bass, striper and bluegill. No crappie or walleye.
Saturday winds, crowds and we decided to go four wheeling around the area.
Sunday we made the trip down to the San Juan. Bass were on non stop, got a few crappie, striper and a cat.
Monday fished Rincon and Escalante area. All very good.
Tuesday we ran up to Good Hope, fished the rocks at the opening of Good Hope and south. Found smallies, largies, striper, crappie and a few walleye. Got a real nice largemouth.
Wednesday weather called for wind but not too bad so we made the run up to Good Hope. The wind turned on the walleye and we absolutely crushed them. Walleye and Largemouth were hot on white chatterbait.
Final day Thursday calm conditions bite was not nearly as good but still brought in a nice bag of Walleye, crappie.
Yes Lake Powell is low. Single lane ramp not fun when busy, but still awesome.
Another fantastic trip.
