Vintage, even antique. My ears aren’t what they used to be partly due to my love of the sound of boat engines WOT in the channel.

But IDK if old equipment really sounds better or if it’s just what I’m used to? But to me Analog Stereo from the 60’ to the 80’s really was special, they tried to build the high end stuff with as much quality as possible and because of that much of it lives on. I’ve bought most of it used for pennies on the dollar especially if it’s inoperable. In many cases it’s a simple deal to get it going, some cleaning, a fuse, maybe a capacitor and it comes to life.

I feel the same way about boats, love the simplicity of them up until the 90’s, you can fix them yourself and they give a lot back

And I thought I was out dated keeping my 80's cerwin vegas alive... they are great in my shop. Sonos in the house and back yard though.

Before coming back from Vietnam we were able to buy discounted stereo equipment through a PACEX mail order catalog and have the stuff shipped home. That analog beast was the best stereo I ever had. Pioneer receiver/amp, turntable, and speakers (throw in an Akai reel-to-reel) and you had the makings of a great dance party.
