I have a question for you fellow anglers since we can't at Powell at this time. I am retired and live in Grand Jct Co and I fish Lake Powell whenever I can. Powell is 4 hrs away by motorhome. I would like to move to a city where I can fish every day and be close to home. I do want to live close to Powell. I know that the best fishing is in the south, but I don't like high humidity or extreme heat. I looked at St George Utah , but it too darn hot in the summer. Calif is out taxes too high Salt Lake is too big. I love living in Grand Jct Co because the weather is great but no good bass fishing here. . I'm not sure about Utah because I'm not Morman and don't want the hassle. So where do I move. Your thoughts. Dennis from Junction

I own a mobile home in the Greenehaven development which is eight miles north of Page off of Highway 89. It's very convenient to the park and the launch ramps. There are a few mobile homes for sale as well as a couple of vacant lots in the mobile home section. There is also a regular single family home section that has lots of available lots. With interest rates at virtually nothing now would be a good time to look into buying something. If you are thinking seriously about purchasing a home in the Page area I would strongly suggest you consider Greenehaven. I bought my place in 1999 and have been very happy with it. I only use it as vacation property, but all my neighbors there live there year round and they love it.

Check it out! :)

I would move back to Page in a heartbeat. No Home Depot there, yet, so lumber is kind of expensive. I loved living there. Not really many other fishing places around but Powell would keep you plenty busy. Good trout fishing 145 miles away in So. Utah....More apt to be"hassled" by Jehovah Witnesses than a Mormon any day. The Mormon community has changed alot in the last 50 years.

Ed, do you happen to know Terry Swain in GH?

A few have houseboats that own planes or partner in them and fly in to the lake. Page has a good airport as does Grand Junction. It is hard to beat the amenities that Grand Junction has. Maybe store your motorhome in Page and spend a few months spring and fall.

Just thought about the trout fishing at Lee's Ferry and the wonderful ropes trail to access trout fishing below the dam

Grand Junction is a pretty good place to live. Can you park your coach at Powell and drive to it, or do you use it for other trips?

What’s limiting your bass fishing in GJ? Have you been to jerry creek reservoirs 40 minutes away? Rifle gap for walleye, small mouth, and pike? 2hrs to blue Mesa for kokes. Gold medal waters surrounding the area for fly fishing. If you are strictly wanting to fish for bass from a boat then I understand where you are coming from. Sorry I am bias since I feel spoiled with all the different fishing options around me.

i played golf at devil's thumb in delta, just south of GJ. awesome! also considered moving from phx to page 12 yrs ago, but wound up in the austin area cuz the winters are too cold in page. love that area, and the golf course there.
