How funny as my lettuce is growing everywhere here in Hesperus ! Same for swiss chard and peas lol... However... We have seen this many times before and lots of moisture in the forecast and looks like feet of snow for the mountains this next week. I have seen many winters start like this (oh btw we are 5 days into winter lol) only to be SICK of snow by the end of February. Relax everyone...Merry Christmas. Gloria just picked fresh lettuce from the garden in Bayfield.

I’m always optimistic, and yes things hopefully will turn around…but current conditions are pretty much unprecedented. There is a brief cooldown (still above average) then more warm weather in the 14 day forecast. I just watched KSL weather, they said the Olympic trials were being moved from Utah to New York because of a lack of snow. They also reported 9 of warmest 10 years on record have been in the last 13 years. I’m not sure what is normal anymore. How funny as my lettuce is growing everywhere here in Hesperus ! Las Cruces was in record territory, too but I was kayaking on the Colorado River near Yuma, AZ at 80 degrees on Christmas Day.Albuquerque broke a record for Christmas day set in 1891, 63. We hit 65!
This storm that just blew thru put a little more snow on the Henry Mountains.... But not enough to say we are much better yet.Meanwhile, here on the CA central coast it’s been cold (for us) and rainy on Christmas, maybe in the 50s, 30s at night, 4-5 inches of rain in three days… and finally some snow in the Sierra, maybe 4 feet…
