I’m camping in stanton creek and would like to get on the stripers but I’ve never fished for em before. Any info on areas around bullfrog and lures to use would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I’m on a 2 man canoe with a fish finder, been using everything in the tacklebox but havent had much luck yet! From shore or boat? At stanton I'd try to get out on some points leading into the main lake and target where the stanton canyon enters the main lake. They seem to like to hang out in those zones. In my experience (which is limited) it's more a matter of finding fish than what lure you have. We've done well on them casting gulp minnows, jigging them with 1-1.5oz jigging spoons, and trolling deep diving crankbaits. Whether you are in a boat or on shore, I'd say move until you find them and then try to stay on the school. This time of year we usually find them in 40-60 FOW, but early and late they may be shallower. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in. Good luck!
