On a recent fishing trip we traveled uplake past Padre Butte and saw a nice herd of Mountain Sheep climbing a hill right above a nice little cove. We spent a few minutes enjoying the sheep but soon we were distracted by another herd of fish swimming along the shore near the herd of sheep.

Stripers were boiling right along the shore under the sheep herd. I ran to my boat and picked up my fishing rod with a top water lure ready to cast. I cast the lure to the feeding school and it was immediately "fish - on". The next 20 minutes was amazing catching a striper on every cast. I think the sheep were annoyed since I quit looking at them and concentrated on catching fish after fish!

That was not all. After the boil went away we trolled and cast to the nearby shoreline and continued to catch many more stripers. It was an amazing day which including catching stripers, watching sheep and enjoying Lake Powell.
