Heading up to Waheap this weekend, I fish LP pretty often, last year around this time we went up to padres bay/ butte and we found lots of schools of striper and bass fishing was amazing! Has anyone been up in navajo or padres? Any tips?

I personally would head to the back of Navaho Canyon and start scanning in 60 feet or less until you locate shad and Striper schools, then drop 1/2 oz jigs with Anchovies cut in 1/3 pieces. You only need ONE Striper to bite, then the rest will bite, which has been my experience multiple times. Yes, this is a different year with minimal shad, but you just need to fish for the survival of the fittest Darwin style. Good luck and tight lines...

Or look at Reed's report of the results in Last chance. I assume it's somewhere near the back but maybe he'll clarify. Chuck
Back of Last Chance is always productive this time of year until about March. Head towards the end and start looking at about 100 feet deep. They are there. Spoons are great I use 3/4 oz silver or gold.. They get down quick.. Good luck!
