Talk about perseverance. Solo paddle boarding

We came across this brave (crazy?) soul some three or four turns into Reflection Canyon. He said he was paddling from Antelope Point Marina to Bullfrog and was on day six. Decided to take the Reflection side trip.šŸ˜³. He accepted our offer of a few Gatorades as he headed back to the main channel. Quite a challenge.

Well, Jacob, that would limit the beauty of Lake Powell to a few thousand people rather than a few million. The wave boats and houseboats didnā€™t bother us on our cruise up Reflection, Anazasi and Forbidding. Actually we had a wave/surf boat at our mooring site in Gunsight. I rode along as the ā€œyoungā€ men (40-50 yo) surfed and roiled the water. And we had this eyesore next to us for three days, 10 bags and two new, unregistered Waverunners. Such is the current state of LP.

Looking at that picture makes my back (and knees) ache. Antelope to Bullfrog? Man, that's about 90 miles!

Well, he is more than half way there.... unless he is planning on a round trip.

Maybe crazy but at least heā€™s not in a wake boat or a 75 foot boat that would require pinning or beach bags. I think we should make Lake Powell a wilderness area where only human powered vehicles are allowed to go.
Humans are leaving footprints.Maybe we should stop all access.Since your for limiting disturbance. I think you're one of the people that shouldn't be allowed to use petroleum. You should practice what you preach.

A few years ago, we were camped around the Rincon. During the afternoon a guy in a sleek college crew style kayak was headed north at a good clip. The next morning, we saw him again headed south. I wouldn't be surprised if we did an up and back from the south end to Bullfrog.

I have no problem if someone wants to paddle board the length or swim it for that matter. Or any other way. I have a huge problem if someone wants to limit who can use it.
Does anyone know what happened to that person who was going to swim from Halls to Wawheap or something similar?
