According to the AP the government is going to be analyzing sediment from the lake to determine the levels of arsenic, cadmium, copper, mercury, and lead. The story said the samples would give information from flash floods over the past decades, so assume it’s more than just the recent catastrophe near Silverton. Without definitively saying where the samples would be taken, it did mention the San Juan. The story says they expect preliminary findings by 2020.

I'm sorry but 1 year seems like a long time to take a collection of key samples. Testing ain't rocket science either.
I wonder what gov. department is doing the testing?
But I could be wrong just this once.

Waiting until 2020 to release the preliminary findings may have something to do with when the next general election occurs. In the meantime, I'm gonna eat all the fish I can.
