Search for stripes, no luck

Against my better judgement bought another boat, a Tracker this time, and headed out of Wahweap on Sat. Tried the mouth around Warm Creek but saw no signs of stripers. No boils, or birds, other than some Greebs looking for some place to go. Went back a ways into Navajo and fished the smallies and caught several on swim baits, and Ned. Left there because my daughter had to pee and then went back into Antelope which seemed dead other than a few shad schools. Anyone know where they are now? Guessing deep in the coves. Water was 64 so should be boiling. Will try her again this weekend.

Well I am not sure about south end but when the water levels are low (as they are now) stripers I have experienced are concentrated in main channel (or at least up north). As for "boils" again the terrible water year leads to terrible shad year and you need shad for boils. Hence why the stripers are skinny and unhealthy right now.

I fished the south end over the weekend as well. We tried to find stripers where PBH recommended, across from Stateline, but had no luck. We also looked in Warm Creek and Last Chance, but didn't turn up much. We did our best towards the back of Navajo on Saturday. We saw dispersed groups of 3's and 4's and caught several of them. We went back to Navajo on Monday and couldn't find even the smaller groups. We caught a couple of stripers and more than a dozen small, SMB trolling. Maybe the main channel is where we should've focused. I did see multiple bait balls in Warm Creek. There were stripers around them, but they were deeper than my trolling tackle could reach. If I were going to do it again, I'd try jigging for them with bait.

The bass bite near the shore everywhere we tried was almost nonexistent; swimbaits, cranks, spinners, neds, and hula-jigs didn't produce. I saw several LMB in bassy-water swim away from well-placed casts. Good luck! Let us know how this weekend goes. I'm wondering if the bass bite picks up when the water temp hits 60f.

I fished warm creek from the end to the mouth last weekend. I was trolling a bottom bouncer w/worm harness for walleye and ran a jerk bait diving 18 to 20 ft. Not 1 walleye bite. Caught 2 smallies on the worm harness when in 15 to 20 ft on the edges. Other than this it was a long day of nothing. I found a huge ball of shad up near the mouth, thought I was marking stripers, but when I dropped a chovey down I didn't even get a nibble.

It was one of the most uneventful days I ever spent out on lake Powell.
