We fished the very upper part of the San Juan Wednesday and part of Thursday. We pulled up stakes due to windy weather!
We left Bullfrog with water temps at 57 degrees. By the end of Wednesday in San Juan it was 67.8. The bass liked this temperature. We caught lots of healthy sm and lmb, a few stripers, and also crappie. Most bites were on the trust worthy jig. White was surprisingly good. I was wondering if this is due to cleaner/clearer water clarity due to the quaggas?
Wed. night it began to blow. We woke up to 57 degree water. We fished the morning till about 11:00 when we decided to call our trip done two days early due to weather. I assume the water temps are cooler now and will take a few more days to warm up again.
Looking forward to going back in May!
