I was told years ago that this was a remnant of a "Navajo sweat lodge" by a Navajo in my family (my sister's husband). The Navajo used these for medicinal and religious purposes among other things. I can't confirm the specifics for this particular structure historically, but that was his opinion.
 
A few years ago it was flattened and in bad shape.
It now appears to have been rebuilt to some extent.
Location is near the place mark.
Was hoping to get some ice cream there but no way.

It's good to see that someone has spent time to rebuild this. It has been a few years since I had seen this. The area around this has some trails leading away from the river, but we have never explored them.
 
I wonder if that area is accessible by boat with the current water levels.
That image shown above is from 8-24-04, when the lake was at 3574 (today at 3569). So I'd say the image is a pretty close approximation to today, but with continued siltation since 2004, hard to know exactly where the lake ends now without being there, I suppose...
