So I decided to make a really quick trip up the San Juan to check things out. Left Wahweap around noon on Friday February 7th. One hour and 45 minutes later I was there. Camped on the island just south of Neskahi. Weather was great fishing was slow. Probably something to do with the Full Moon. I didn't bring food for dinner just planned on eating fish. Fortunately I caught a nice smallie. 40 feet deep on a Yamamoto Hula Grub Green Pumpkin with Black Flec. It was really good. Saturday morning I caught a nice striper in the mouth of Neskahi Wash on a Nob Wimmer spoon. 70 feet of water. Decided to take advantage of the pure glass on cruise back. 145 miles round trip. Great weather, a few fish, glass water... Priceless. Never saw another boat.
