Thanks Svivian , kinda what I thoughtDepends on how often you fish, when I was doing tournaments in college I changed every year. Now a days I'm usually every other year or when I can tell the line is getting old and brittle. If you notice you are breaking more lures off than normal it's time to put fresh line on.
That makes total sense.I have trimmed braid back 8-10 feet to get rid of any weaknesses. Also replaced it reel to reel so the "new" is on top and the old is now the backing. If that makes sense.
