It looks like the next 5 or 6 days may bring considerable rain to the watersheds that feed Lake Powell especially in SW Colorado and SE Utah. Is anyone else expecting some positive numbers on the elevation chart?
You never know, but it's certainly possible that the lake could rise. Just as an extreme example, big storms in mid-October 1972 caused the lake to rise by about 5 feet over a two-week period, and on October 19 and 20, more than a foot each day. Inflows actually exceeded 40,000 cfs for a couple of days before backing off... In those two weeks, the lake gained about 500,000 af in volume...It looks like the next 5 or 6 days may bring considerable rain to the watersheds that feed Lake Powell especially in SW Colorado and SE Utah.
